Why a Writing Challenge?

I just recently got my first viral post. It brought me more than 60 subscribers yesterday. It also got me some sales of my digital products and some paying subscribers too. I’m gonna write a dedicated article about this post when I get enough data to share.

Right now it’s clear: posts do get you new subscribers. And sales.

But it might be challenging to stay consistent. That’s why this challenge exists.

Now you have everything you need to grow your Substack:

The Substack Monthly Writing Challenge

What is it?

It’s a challenge for writing.

But not just writing.

It’s built to help you convert more subscribers, applying everything from the Write2Sell column and the Quest in practice. Because learning how to do things is nothing if you don’t take action.

So, in this challenge, we’ll take action.

The Challenge:

PARTICIPANTS:

This challenge is for paid members only!

Paid and V.I.P. members can:

Join the challenge
Share their Note in the weekly thread
Add themselves to the Accountability tracker

June theme continues to be PRODUCT:

This Challenge will now fully align with the Quest. It is now complete and I’m uploading the recordings in the next days (takes me some technical time).

So this month I want you to think about what you sell and build your content around it - your posts should talk about your offers. Regardless if you have a free newsletter or a paid one - write about what you sell. And if you don’t have anything to sell yet, I’ve got that covered too:

Become my affiliate and earn 30% from each sale. Apply here (I approve everyone).

This is how you monetize your newsletter. Find out the exact strategy in the Substack Quest.

What do you need to do?

Watch the Positioning and the Product materials from the Quest.
Critically analyze your posts and adapt whatever you feel needs it.
Write at least one post weekly and send it as an email to your subscribers. The more the better.
Stay active in the weekly boost posts:
- Share a quote from it on Notes (select some shareable sentence & restack quote)
- Share a link to it on the Weekly Writing Challenge Sharing Thread: I will post one every Sunday - it will arrive in your inbox.
- And remember to read, like, comment and restack some of the other posts you like. This is how we help each other grow.
Track your consistency: add yourself to the Accountability Tracker. I have a Prize for the most active!

The GOAL?

Simple: CA$H!!

You nail your product => you nail your monetization

Valid for all types of Substacks:

free newsletter
paid newsletter
fiction or non-fiction

I’ve got you covered in the Quest.

WINNERS AWARDS:

The most active will be entitled to join me in a spotlight session to talk about their Substack. To give you and your Substack more exposure, I will share this session:

all subscribers
my YouTube channel
my BiTES atomic newsletter
my other social media accounts

I know a lot of creators are inviting other popular creators who are already successful but I think people also want to know about the people who are just starting. Not just another success story. Real people with real struggles, real challenges, and real growth insights.

Rules:

I’ll do these sessions monthly after the Challenge finishes.
I’ll invite one of the most active participants in the Challenge based on the Accountability Tracker. Rules:
- 1. must be in the Accountability tracker
- 2. must have completed the challenge (at least one post every week)
- 3. you can win the same challenge more than once but in different months
- 4. you can’t win both Writing and Notes challenges in the same month. If you do, I’ll invite the next most active person for a session
We’ll do the session only if you’re willing to. If not, I’ll invite the next most active member until I get a “yes”. Priority of inviting:
- 1. most active among the VIP members
- 2. most active among the annual paid members
- 3. most active among the monthly paid members
Announcement of the winners: start of next Challenge
When do we do the session: during next month upon your availability
How do we do the session: over Zoom. I ask you questions (we initially agree on the list), you talk :). You can prepare slides if you want to (not a must).
