More Notes = More Subs

Every data analysis I made so far showed one and the same thing:

  • More Notes = More chances to get subscribers.

And you don’t need to go viral, you only need a highly engaging format. This is why I built my custom GPT. It helped me triple my subscriber growth and that effect stayed with me.

Even in the slow months, I still have 30+ new subscribers per day, which still keeps me above the 300 new subs I used to have monthly before I implemented my system.

What I did:

  • I increased my Notes from 1/day to 3-10/day

  • I collected ~1000 viral Notes from small writers and trained a custom GPT to write in the same format, giving me 4 different types of high engaging Notes.

I also made a course how you can replicate this.

And it works, more than 200 people who use it report high engaging Notes that bring them hundreds of subscribers:

Just while I write this I got 4 new subscribers in a matter of minutes:

But for those of us with a 9-5 really can’t afford spending more than half an hour on the app daily.

So I used to post all Notes at once.

The problem?

Like most social media platforms, Notes also has best times to post. My recent analysis with ChatGPT confirmed that.

That’s why Notes scheduling is one of the most desired features on Substack. And the most vital one, especially if you want to grow faster.

Fortunately, we’re lucky to have genius guys like

Finn Tropy
who take care of us by creating amazing data, analysis, and automation tools, and who help us fill that gap.

Finn just announced his advanced Professional Substack Notes Management & Growth System. Now you can not only schedule Notes, but also, directly from the Chrome extension:

  • Analyze your Notes performance - not only likes, comments, and restacks, but also subscribers!!

  • New faster and easier ways to schedule - the Kanban (my favorite), the Themes and the Drip mode.

  • An AI assistant that writes prompts to help you analyze your Notes, repurpose them or simply generate and schedule.

  • Select the best time to post for schedule, based on the engagement you’ve got on your Notes - this feature alone is set to increase your growth. I use it for a week now and I can already see increase:

And Finn has some more feedback from his beta testers:

Now, I know Finn from Medium. We keep in touch ever since we met there. And today I’m proud, and also VERY excited to announce our first collaboration product!

The Substack Pro Studio - The GPT Bundle Edition

In this version of his Pro Studio, you’ll find an adapted AI assistant to work with my custom GPT and with a direct link to my custom GPT, so that you have it all in one place!

And the best part?

It’s now part of your Unplugged paid subscriber benefits, valid till end of September!

Like always, I want you to have it all included in your paid subscription, and Finn was so kind to agree to include this highly valuable tool in the Unplugged paid membership.

All new and existing Unplugged paid members now have access to it.

How to use it?

Finn prepared a very detailed guide about every step of the process. And if you still need us to help, DM me or

Finn Tropy
, we’re here for you.

What’s different in the GPT Bundle?

→ You can choose from the standard more and the GPT bundle mode, here:

→ When you choose the GPT bundle, you’ll have the following workflow:

  • Open my Custom GPT (you can use it with the free version of ChatGPT).

  • Create inputs. Here’s my best advice:

    • TOPIC: paste your core topic pillars.

    • CONTEXT: describe who are you, what you write about and what makes you unique.

    • TARGET AUDIENCE INSIGHTS: describe your audience pains, problems, goals, fears, and aspirations.

Side note: Take the QUEST if you don’t have enough clarity on the above. It will help you a lot.

As an example, here’s what my inputs look like:

  • Once you create these, copy and paste them in my custom GPT. It will give you 4 viral-ready Notes (no pressure here, even if they don’t go viral you should still get engagement and subs. That’s even healthier growth.).

  • Go back to the Pro Studio and paste all of the Notes at once. Click Preview - it will split the chunk text into 4 formatted Notes ready to post.

  • Then can now add them to Drafts (in the Kanban), where you can edit and schedule.

That’s it! Easy!
