This looks like something great that you put together here Miss Yana. I'm interested. Looks like a worthy investment.
Currently I'm posting on YouTube as well while trying to start my own business after helping someone else successfully build their business for 17 years and nothing to show for it.
I started Substack on a whim. I have been posting daily but I have been wondering lately how to possibly monetize soon.
hi Judah, thank you so much! Yes, I agree - doing something for yourself is always the best investment and the feeling is great. There's no better time to start than now :)
Hi Yana, I agree. And more so when that thing you do for yourself involves self growth, and pursuing a passion that can possibly bring so much benefit to your life while helping others do the same. I do believe in myself but at the same time I don't know if I have what it takes to be a writer. I understand that we grow through the process of taking action but I'm not sure. We're you good at writing in the beginning? Was writing a passion for you?
Hi Judah, no I don’t think I was good at it. And it was never my passion, but once I started I kinda fell in love with it. For the first time ever, I could be myself entirely. And so I never stopped since then. I still think I’m not a good writer. I think what’s more important is to be yourself. Your people will find you.
That makes sense to me, thank you Yana! When you you first began your writing journey here on Substack...what did you write about? Did you stick to a theme? Was it just personal thoughts about reality day to day?
Side note: I had a major crush in 9th grade. Her name was Yana haha. I love your name.
Hi Judah, I came here from Medium, and I already had some idea what I’d be writing about - it was again writing online, plus my frustrations about Medium :D. People resonated.
I also brought some of my Medium audience here, which helped. Back then, we had the option to export subscribers. I only had 60, but it was still something.
P.S. Aww lovely, so my name gives you good memories :)
I like the new approach. You've spent a tremendous amount of time creating the Quest, which is vastly different from all the schemes coming to my inbox on building an audience. It's the first 'substack growth' system I've seen that excites me. Eagerly awaiting the launch Yana!
Wow, that makes me proud I created it in that format. Thank you so much, Larry! I'm sure it's gonna be a great and exciting journey :) Looking forward to seeing you inside.
